Donor Impact

Stories of Gratitude

Each year, thousands of UL Lafayette alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends donate to the University.  These gifts help drive UL Lafayette forward and help make the University the incredible place that it is. In honor of the end of the 2017-18 Fiscal Year, which ended on June 30, we wanted to say “Thank You.”

We're on the rise and we're growing in enrollment and reputation, but we cannot do it without our alumni and friends.  You help make UL Lafayette's vision a reality. You helpinspire students, support innovation, and connect communities around the world.  Because of you, UL Lafayette is celebrating its 120 Anniversary this year, and poised to enter the next 120 years.

Gratitude from our Students

" I am humbled and grateful that I was selected as the recipient of the Theresa M. Piccione Endowed Graduate Scholarship for Nurse Practicioner. I am in the doctorate of nursing practice program at UL Lafayette. I recently graduated with a Master of Science degree with a family nurse ractitioner focus. I plan to complete the doctoral program and then work in primary care in Louisiana. Your gift will help with my educational expenses. Thank you for the Theresa M. Piccione Endowed Graduate Scholarship for Nurse Practitioner. You have lessened my financial burden, which allows me to focus on academics. Like you have shared with me, I hope to be in a position soon to give back to my community, mentor others, and improve health outcomes. This gift will help me achieve my academic goals.”

With graduation nearing, my plans and goals for the future are close within my reach. My first goal is to graduate from UL Lafayette with degrees in Accounting and Marketing. I plan to pursue a career in public accounting and immediately begin preparation for the CPA Exam. Within the year I hope to have passed all four parts of the exam and be a licensed CPA. Regarding long-term goals, I hope to one day start a scholarship for first-generation accounting students like myself. It will be extremely rewarding to assist students who have the desire, but not necessarily the financial support, to further their education. I owe a great deal of my success to the generosity of others, and I plan to return that favor to deserving students.”
