Picard Charitable Gift Annuity

Mr. & Mrs. Lewis Picard knew a good thing (or two) when they saw it.  The Picards acknowledged that the life income they could receive from a Charitable Gift Annuity with UL (through the UL Lafayette Foundation) seemed like a good thing.

The UL gift annuity with the Picards, established in 2002, had a guaranteed annual payout of 8.9% for their lifetimes.

The other good thing the Picards recognized with a charitable gift annuity is that the University would benefit from assets that remained in the gift annuity account after their lifetime incomes.

"We wanted to do something for the University," said Mr. Picard. "I've been watching this University progress for so many years," noted the then 89-year-old alumnus who received his degree in 1939. "I'm proud to be able to give something back," he said.
