In Memorium Endowed Scholarship Gift(s) from Jackie Edgar

For years, Jackie Edgar was well recognized in Acadiana from advertisements for her automobile and RV dealerships. Those messages conveyed her professional personality. But there's a very compelling personal message that is being told about her (and her family life and values) through three memorial gift funds that she created at UL: the Lawrence Albert Edgar Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Business Administration, the Lawrence Albert Edgar Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Finance, and the Kathy Authement Prouet Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Special Education.

Lawrence was Mrs. Edgar's son, and it is in his memory that the first two scholarship endowments were established. Kathy Authement Prouet is the late daughter of former UL President Ray Authement. Through these endowments, their lives are remembered, and students who wish to receive a college education will forever be assisted thanks to these memorial funds.

Mrs. Edgar has also given of her time to the University including service as a cabinet member of the Investing in Our Future Centennial Campaign.
